Fruit picking in the Kasumigaura orchard takes place all-year-round, so round up the family and come visit us!

Pears

Pears The king of sweet, juicy fruits. The city of Kasumigaura has been harvesting pears for over 100 years, making it one of the most prominent regions in the entire prefecture. Juicy and grown with a fine balance of sweetness and acidity, the pears are said to have rejuvenating effects, as well as revitalize one from the scorching summer heat. Pears can be picked from the middle of August through the end of October.

Chestnuts

Chestnuts The large plump chestnuts found in Kasumigaura can only mean one thing: sweet. Delicious boiled or grilled, the region is well known for producing the greatest quantity of chestnuts in the prefecture. These delicious morsels are also known for their positive effects on blood circulation and the digestive system. Chestnut season runs from the early September through late October.

Grapes

Grapes Primarily harvesting the legendary Kyoho variety, these large luscious pearly grapes are sweet and aromatic. Easy to peel and easy to eat, they are tough for anyone to resist! Kyoho grapes can be picked between mid-August and mid-October.

Persimmons

Persimmons “The redder the persimmon, the bluer the doctor.” These fruit are so well known for their nutritional value, packed full of essential vitamins such as A, B and C, that they’re responsible for the creation of proverbs such as the one above. They are even said to be good for helping one handle nasty hangovers! Persimmon can be picked in Kasumigaura from early September through the end of November.

Strawberries

Strawberries Packed with vitamin C and great for promoting beautiful skin and fighting off colds, these sweet and lively Kasumigaura strawberries are an essential. The orchard is open from late December through late May.

Blueberries

Blueberries These scrumptious berries are perfect for making juices and jams, and are a recent addition to the farms of Kasumigaura, not to mention a big hit as well!  Although commonly known to promote good eyesight, they are also said to have a number of anti-aging effects to boot.
You can get your mitts on these mouth-watering blueberries from mid-June through mid-August. Why don’t you come pick a few yourself
